About
Our mission
The Greater Kansas City USBC Association is the local governing body for certified bowling in the Kansas City metropolitan area. We organize tournaments, certify scores, recognize lifetime achievement through our Hall of Fame, fund youth scholarships, and support the network of certified bowling centers our members call home.
Bowlers run this association. Our board is elected from the membership, our tournament committees are staffed by volunteer members, and the work we do is accountable to the league bowlers and tournament competitors of greater Kansas City.
What we do
- Certify the association’s annual tournaments — Open City Championships, Women’s, Masters, Seniors, Queens, and Youth Super Bowling.
- Certify Honor Scores — 300 games, 800 series, and special-achievement awards from league and tournament play.
- Operate the Hall of Fame — induct Legend, Superior Performance, Meritorious Service, and Sponsor members each year at the Night of Fame.
- Fund youth scholarships — supporting the next generation of bowlers in the metro.
- Support certified bowling centers — maintaining the network of certified houses across the KC metro.
Member services
Behind those programs, the association handles the day-to-day work that keeps leagues running:
- Assigns a Board member to each establishment to help with league operations.
- Processes all league and membership applications to USBC.
- Provides association and USBC high-game and high-series awards.
- Conducts the annual membership meeting.
- Distributes league supplies to secretaries.
- Maintains individual member records.
- Interprets rules and furnishes counsel and guidance.
- Conducts hearings on USBC and league rule infractions.
- Publishes an Annual Yearbook of member averages.
Member benefit
Additional $3,500 AD&D benefit

An AIL representative will call to deliver your certificate of coverage, verify your beneficiary designation, register you for the AIL Plus program, and provide your Legacy Will Kit®; other AIL supplemental programs are strictly voluntary.

The association operates under its constitution and by-laws.
